2026 Barb Bossu, Volunteer Spirit Award

Barb Bossu was an enthusiastic parent volunteer and the Union Elementary PTA president at the time of her death. The “Barb Bossu Volunteer Spirit Award” was established in 1990 to commemorate her dedication to public education by honoring a volunteer who has positively impacted the entire Lakota District and one volunteer from every school in the district. The recipients of the “Barb Bossu Volunteer Spirit Award” give of their time unselfishly and represent a positive spirit and dedication toward the betterment of ALL students.

• Please nominate a volunteer who is making/has recently made a positive impact at Wyandot and for our students.

• Nominees must be currently involved with the school but DO NOT need to be a member of the Wyandot PTO (candidate may be a leader or a behind the scenes worker). The best candidates are often a highly visible volunteers who dedicate a lot of time and energy to the school.  

• This is a volunteer award. Therefore, a staff member may be nominated based on what they do for the school outside the realm of their paid position.  

• Submissions are due March 13, 2026

Submissions are also being accepted for the district-level nominee as well. This volunteer is making/has recently made a positive impact in our district where students or staff in ALL buildings are impacted, and who gives their time unselfishly to the Lakota School District.
