The best learning often starts with a really good question. And if you’re a kindergartner in Anne Gibson’s class at Wyandot Early Childhood School, you get 30 minutes nearly every day to do just that.
It’s a little something Gibson likes to call “Inquiry Workshop” - a time when her students get to not only be curious, but also become the experts. And while she may orchestrate the actual subject matter to align with whatever science or social studies kindergarten standard is up next, her students essentially write the lesson plan from there. It’s all the makings of a personalized learning experience.

The PTO would like to get the snack cart up and running again for all our amazing teachers and staff at Wyandot! We need your help to make this a reality. Please sign up to donate to the snack cart. Drop off all items to the office by Thursday December 14th.

Wear orange and black to school on Thursday, November 16th for a WHO DEY Spirit Day.
Author Bethany Van Meter and her dog, River will be coming to Wyandot on Wednesday. All Wyandot students will have the chance to listen to Bethany read her book, I See with my Heart, and to see River. If you pre-ordered a copy of the book, it will be delivered to Wyandot on Wednesday and will come home in your child’s backpack.
If you are supporting a child who is grieving, Companions on a Journey Grief Support, COJ, is here to support you, to understand the needs of a grieving child or teen. Come join us on November 15 as we share helpful ways to support your child and share helpful resources and share with you our local school support. COJ is dedicated to supporting children and the networks and communities surrounding them.
Save the Date for November 15th from 6:30-7:30pm. Location TBD and Childcare provided!

LifeTouch will be here to do picture retakes on Wednesday, November 8th. Students who were absent on Picture Day, (September 21st) and those who enrolled after Picture Day will automatically have their photo taken. If you want your child to have his/her picture retaken, they need to bring in their original photo packet to give to the photographer.
Butter Braids will be delivered to Wyandot on Thursday, November 9th. They need to remain frozen and so cannot go home in backpacks and must be picked up from the school by an adult. If you ordered butter braids you will be able to pick them up after school on Thursday, November 9th between 4:10PM and 5:30PM. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hand them out during dismissal. If you are unable to come to pick them up on the 9th, please contact the office to schedule another time.
We are having a spirit day on Tuesday, October 31st. The day will be PJ Day so send your child to school in their favorite PJs!
Let someone else cook dinner on November 15th! Support the Wyandot PTO by dining at MOD Pizza.
The PTO uses funds from our monthly Dine To Donate nights to provide the extra & fun events for our students & staff throughout the school year. A few examples of what we use the funds for are Tropical Day, Reds Day, Conference meals for our staff, and Staff Appreciation Week events & treats.
Picture Retake Day is on Wednesday November 8th. We are looking for 3 volunteers to help collect students from classrooms and assist them with getting their photos taken. Please click on the link to sign-up.
