Safety & Security

Wyandot ECS partners with the Butler County Sheriff's Office for School Resource Officer (SRO) services. Ongoing programs for school safety include lockdown drills using lockdown drills as well as monthly fire and tornado drills. Our SRO works to build positive relationships between students and police officers. She also works closely with the school counselor for in-class guided lessons regarding day-to-day safety of our students, including situations at school, at home, and with technology.
Each year, all students at Wyandot Early Childhood School are taught 4 HOPE (Health Opioid Prevention Education) by the school resource officer. This education helps children to understand the basics of medicine safety, what and who are trusted adults, and what to do if you are unsure about a situation. For more information regarding the HOPE lessons, please go here.
